ICRNZ was established in 2005 to deliver the IC
Rating methodology to New Zealand businesses.
ICRNZ's partners and consultants
have extensive management consulting experience
in a range of New Zealand and international businesses.
Our organisation is founded on the recognition of
the increasingly important role that intellectual
capital measurement plays in today's
businesses.
|
"It
is widely accepted that intangible (or intellectual)
assets are the major drivers of economic growth
in most economic sectors. Due to
lack of measure for these increasingly important
assets, evaluating profitability and performance
of business enterprise by existing
metrics (e.g. ROA, ROE) is seriously flawed"
(Feng Gu and Baruch Lev, Boston University School
of Managment Accounting, "Measurement, Drivers,
Usefulness") |
"If
managing the intangible resources can help achieving
competitive advantage, increase profitability and
market value, then it is not a
choice, but a necessity."
(Univ-Prof. Dr. Ante Pulic, Croatian Chamber
of Economy - Intellectual Capital Association, Austrian
Intellectual Capital ResearchCentre) |
"Super-normal
performance, generally manifested by sustained growth
in sales, earnings and market value, is only rarely
the result of a
natural monopoly or competition-restraining regulation,
but rather is the consequence of the organization
of the enterprise. Organization
capital is the major value creator of business enterprises."
(Baruch Lev and Suresh Radhakrishnan, New York University
and University of Texas at Dallas) |
"An
important pre-requisite for the ability of corporate
management to manage for sustainable value creation
is the availability of
objective information on the status of all relevant
value creating activities.
The objective of corporate reporting is to provide
investors and other external stakeholders with a
better insight into the enterprise. By
giving them an overview of all value-creating activties
from an economic view-point it should allow all
stakeholders to better assess the
true potential of a company as well as its ability
to achieve sustainable results. "
(Baruch Lev and Juergen H. Daum, New York University
Stern School of Business and Chief Solution Architect,
SAP, Germany) |
"This research not only demonstrates that human
and organization capital are fundamental to stock
returns, but also highlights
management policies that promote the successful
engagement of human and organization capital in
executing strategies across all
organizations. Until now, managers who wished to
manage intangibles have had to rely on increases
in scorecard metrics without any
understanding of which metrics are more important,
how their company's metrics measure up to competition,
or whether the company's
performance is enhanced as a result. With the information
that these new tools provide, managers can now make
more effective
decisions regarding intangibles performance, with
a line of sight to the single most important measure
of success - stock return. "
(Jason Hurwitz, Stephen Lines, Bill Montgomery and
Jeffrey Schmidt, Towers Perrin, New York, USA) |
